Series 240 Safety Valve – Compact Balanced Bellows Type

The Series 240 is a compact, spring-loaded safety valve featuring a balanced bellows design. The bellows is designed to minimize the influence of superimposed back pressure on the valve’s set pressure and operating characteristics, making this configuration suitable for applications involving variable back pressure or discharge into a common relief header, within the valve’s specified operating limits.

Depending on the valve construction, the bellows may also isolate the bonnet and spring area from direct contact with the process fluid. Suitability for corrosive or hazardous media must be assessed based on the compatibility of the bellows and other wetted materials with the process fluid.

Available in sizes from ¼ to 2 inches, the Series 240 shares the same size range, connection options, body configurations, and material selection range as the Series 210. It provides the additional balanced-bellows feature for applications where the influence of back pressure must be minimized.

Final selection should consider set pressure, operating conditions, allowable back pressure, required relieving capacity, and material compatibility.
