Series 810 Safety Valve – Conventional Type
The Series 810 is a conventional, spring-loaded safety valve designed to protect pressurized equipment and process systems against overpressure. When the inlet pressure reaches the specified set pressure under the applicable operating conditions, the pressure force overcomes the spring force and the valve opens to discharge excess process fluid.
The performance of a conventional safety valve can be affected by outlet back pressure. Superimposed back pressure can influence the valve’s opening characteristics and set-pressure behavior, while built-up back pressure can affect relieving performance and capacity. Inlet pressure losses and the discharge piping arrangement must also be evaluated during valve selection.
For applicable flanged-steel configurations designed in accordance with API 526, standardized inlet and outlet sizes, pressure ratings, and orifice designations are available. Final selection and orifice sizing should account for the required relieving capacity, set pressure, process conditions, allowable back pressure, and material compatibilit
