Series 410 Pilot-Operated Safety Valve – Pop Action
The Series 410 is a pilot-operated safety valve designed for pop-action operation. The pilot responds to system pressure and controls the pressure conditions that hold the main valve closed during normal operation. When the specified actuation condition is reached, the pilot changes the pressure acting on the main valve, enabling it to open rapidly.
In pop-action operation, the main valve transitions rapidly from the closed position toward its fully open stable position rather than opening gradually in response to incremental pressure changes. As system pressure decreases to the specified closing conditions, the pilot enables the main valve to reclose according to its design.
The Series 410 is intended for the gas and vapor applications specified for this product. Its suitability for a particular service depends on the valve configuration, required relieving capacity, pressure and temperature conditions, process-fluid properties, and applicable project requirements.
For applicable flanged-steel configurations designed in accordance with API 526, standardized inlet and outlet sizes, pressure ratings, and orifice designations are available. Final valve selection and orifice sizing must be based on the required relieving capacity and the specified process conditions.
